THE JOINT PONTIFICAL ORDERS OF THE EAGLE

The Most Holy Pontifical Order of the Eagle

Given in one rank, Bailiff, jointly with the Aquiline Order of Christ.
The Bailiffs, who hold hereditary knighthood within the Order, occupy a special position in Christian chivalry and serve as advisors to His Apostolic Highness the Roman-Ruthenian Pope (Prince-Bishop of Rome-Ruthenia). They proudly carry the title of honorary cousins to His Apostolic Highness.

The Companions of the Pontifical Order of the Eagle
Given in ranks of Bailiff of Honour, Knight/Dame Grand Cross, Knight/Dame Commander, and Knight/Dame.

The rank of Bailiff of Honour is not given as a distinct honour, but is held by heirs to Knights/Dames of Christ since the rank of Bailiff is hereditary (but the Order of Christ is not). (Some Bailiffs of Honour were independently given the rank prior to the decree of 2023 that restricted the honour to heirs to the Order of Christ.)
